What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

 A photo was sent to me from a young lady who is part of a refugee family. I'd offered to make each of them a quilt and she sent her favorite. I rather think she likes it because it reminds her of the ocean and beach.

Anyway, this is on the design wall. The bottom two rows are sewn together, the rest waiting to be stitched. 

It was so much fun to make. I had all the colors in my stash. The pattern is "Seaside Park" by Villa Rosa Designs.

A pixel quilt is just a charm quilt, really. The only trick is planning the layout. Luckily, Robert Kaufman did all the figuring for the Pixelated Heart Quilt, and you can download the pattern for free!

A little precision is good for the soul.  Neat vacuum lines in the carpet. Deep green rows of meticulously mowed grass. Quilt blocks with well-pressed seams and razor-sharp points. All that order just feels nice.

My favorite bouquet wasn’t roses or orchids; it was a tiny bunch of clover blossoms gathered by a very special four-year-old. (Oh, how I wished those flowers could last forever!)
